143 Pound Fish at Kerr Lake

WOW! A 143 pound ficatsh was caught at Kerr Lake Saturday just before dusk and just over the Virginia Line of Kerr Lake / Buggs Island Lake. According to the News and Observor paper, this fish was 57 inches long, 43.5 inches round and was caught by a 29 year old football coach from Greenville, North Carolina. The Peninsula at Kerr Lake held an official ribbon cutting in July, hosted by the Henderson-Vance Chamber of Commerce, to announce the new exclusive gated waterfront community on beautiful Kerr Lake. This premier waterfront community features 56 stunning waterfront homesites with private dock permits available and 47 lovely off-water homesites with community dock slips. The community has a beautifully landscaped gated entrance, a large boulder etched with the logo, an onsite boat storage and restrictive covenants protecting homeowners' investment. Distinguished guest were Pete O'Geary (mayor of Henderson) and his wife, Bill Edwards (Chamber President) and Chamber Staff Members, Brenda Faucette & Debra Tuck (representing The Daily Dispatch), Chamber Ambassadors, the Developers, the real estate agents from Coldwell Banker Advantage - Henderson and other Coldwell Banker Advantage agents and other guest. Grading is at a rapid pace as roads take shape. Approximately 90 % of the grading work is complete. The drive through this gated lake community is going to be beautiful and enjoyable as you drive home or to your vacation home.

Progress Energy has started work on the utilities and plan to complete their project in six (6) weeks. Paving will start shortly after the utility work is completed.
